How to attach a semi-precious stone to an avocado pit

In this article, I will show you and explain the steps I take to attach a semi-precious stone to an avocado pit without using any glue.

1. First Step

For this pendant I will use a half of a fresh avocado pit. This will be the base of the pendant, and we’ll carve a hole into it for the semi-precious stone (or precious stone, depending on what you choose).

For today’s necklace, I used a celestite/celestine stone, known for its power to enhance meditation, prayer or focus. Celestite is often associated with divine powers and is believed to help increase understanding, elevate consciousness, and improve focus when used during meditation and prayer.

2. Second Step

Measure the stone you want to attach to the avocado pit. This, is a very important step – the hole you carve in the pit should be a few millimeters smaller than the size of the stone you’re inserting.

3. Third Step

Carefully insert the stone, paying close attention not to crack or chip the edges of the hole in the avocado pit. Since the pit is fresh, it will be flexible and easy to work with.

4. Fourth Step

After you have inserted the stone, you should wait at least two weeks for the pit to dry as much as possible. As the pit dries, it will tighten around the stone, making it one solid piece. The stone won’t move or risk falling out unless the pit itself is damaged.

5. Fifth Step

That final step is to finish the avocado pit by smoothing the edges, create any designs you like on the surface, and treating the pit with special oils and protective varnish. Once the step is complete, the avocado pit and the stone become a lovely pendant you can wear every day.
